News from Laravel's Largest Event (2024)

As you know, our Venn diagram for the perfect Steadfast Collective project is Laravel X Community Focused.

Laravel is the world’s most popular PHP framework; one-person businesses use it, through to giants like Apple.

We’re committed to Laravel, having become a Laravel partner in 2023, and for good reason - we believe it makes for regenerative projects, that leave the internet better.

If we build a Laravel project correctly, other experienced Laravel developers can quickly jump in to help, review or take over the project. The internet needs fewer closed loops; a few hold the keys and vendors lock you in.

During the last week of August, the largest Laravel event of the year kicked off.

The two-day event was for brands, developers, and agencies to hear about the latest developments with the Laravel Framework.

We sponsored the conference and kept a keen eye on the news from across the Atlantic.

Laravel Cloud

One of the biggest announcements was the introduction of Laravel Cloud, a new platform designed to simplify the deployment and management of Laravel applications. With features like quick deployment straight from a GitHub repo, automatic scaling based on traffic, and built-in database management tools, Laravel Cloud promises to make deployment faster and more efficient than ever before

Laravel 11 Updates

Laravel 11, which is set to launch soon, includes several significant enhancements to streamline the development process. These include introducing fewer default files in new projects, auto-discovery of events and listeners, a new SQLite default database, and Pest as the default testing framework.

Inertia.js v2

Inertia.js, the popular tool for building single-page applications using classic server-side frameworks, received a major update. Inertia v2 introduces features like async requests, better state management, and prefetching, which enhance the performance and responsiveness of applications

While the above may not impact your day, week, or month, it should give you confidence that Laravel continues to progress in building tools for artisans to create.
