Godolphin & Latymer Independent School

Crafting a custom Giving Day platform

Godolphin & Latymer Independent School needed a custom platform for their Giving Days to support the fundraising for their bursary programme. Existing tools were too costly or didn’t align with their brand, so we partnered with the school to develop a bespoke, cost-effective solution. After thorough research and collaboration, we built a platform using Laravel and Stripe that allows the school to run engaging Giving Day events tailored to their needs efficiently. While the first Giving Day is set for 2024, the platform is already strengthening donor connections and will help the school save on licensing and processing fees.

For Godolphin & Latymer Independent School, Giving Days are more than just fundraising events—they’re vital to supporting their bursary programme, which opens doors for deserving students. The school needed a platform that could reflect the importance of these events. They wanted to develop their Giving Day platform to run future events, bringing excitement and engagement to their donor community. While existing licensed tools were available, they were expensive and not tailored to the school’s brand. The goal was to create a platform that would be both cost-effective and highly engaging, inspiring donors and ambassadors to support the school’s bursary programme for deserving students.

We partnered with the school's Development Director to create a platform that would truly serve these goals. Together, we focused on designing a solution that was cost-effective, easy to manage, and geared towards maximising donor engagement. Our discovery phase involved detailed competitor analysis, understanding platform requirements beyond the licensable software, and gathering insights to guide the platform’s development.

Using Laravel as the foundation and Stripe for payments, we developed a bespoke Giving Day platform that allows Godolphin & Latymer to run events as needed. The platform features tools for sharing event details, setting challenges, and offering match funding opportunities, all tailored to the school’s needs.

Though the first Giving Day is scheduled for later in 2024, the response has been very positive. The platform is already enhancing the school’s ability to connect with its donor community and support its bursary students. By owning its own Giving Day platform, Godolphin & Latymer can provide a more personal experience to its donors and dramatically save on licensing and processing fees from shifting this tool in-house.

It’s been a rewarding experience working with Godolphin & Latymer, and we’re proud to have delivered a solution that aligns with their values and helps further their mission of providing educational opportunities to deserving students.
