Vet Help Direct

In early 2020, as the world faced new challenges, Vet Help Direct approached us with a clear vision: to develop a Video Consultation Platform that would connect vets and pet owners through a secure and seamless video connection. While the idea had been in the works for a while, the COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the urgent need for a digital solution to keep pets healthy when in-person visits weren’t possible.

Building on the success of their vet directory and review platform, which attracts over 1.2 million unique visitors annually, Vet Help Direct wanted to create a platform that offered more than just video consultations. The goal was to build a powerful web app that allowed vet practices to manage appointments, handle payments, and conduct video calls within a user-friendly interface.

Our challenge was to design and develop a platform that was easy to use but could handle the technical demands of video streaming and support multiple languages. We worked closely with Vet Help Direct’s stakeholders, gathering feedback through demo sessions and workshops to ensure the platform met the needs of vets and pet owners.

Using Laravel as the foundation, we built an API-driven platform with integrated video-calling, live chat, email notifications, and Stripe Connect for secure payments. The platform’s billing system handles multiple tax zones, making payments straightforward for pet owners and practices.

Launched successfully, the platform quickly became a valuable tool for the veterinary industry. Vet practices now have complete control over their operations and can offer high-quality care no matter where their clients are.
