Louder Than Words // B Corp Festival
A collective of people looking to leave the world better than they found it.
That was what I experienced in Oxford this week.
Louder than Words was the largest gathering of B Corps, with well over 1000 folks in Oxford.
Over two days, the mornings were filled with early morning coffee meetings, before heading into the main theatre to hear from the likes of Mary Portas, Char Love, Nigel Pocklington, Patrick Grant and Ruth Turner.
The afternoons were a ‘create your own adventure’ with various talks, sessions and seminars happening across Oxford with the unifying theme of; how do we turn our words into action.
What is a B Corp?
Certified B Corporations, or B Corps, are companies verified by B Lab to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.
I had the chance to meet folks from the hospitality, insurance, health, energy, legal sectors and chat to them about their business, and how the impact of their business leaves the world better.
Being surrounded by inspirational people building ethical coffee brands, human focus law practices and marketers who refuse to work with brands who we know are damaging for the planet felt important.
Everyone is a leader, everyone has influence, and not using that influence to leave it better than you found it, is no longer good enough.
