In May 2021, we opened our £15,000 website giveaway for entries, looking to give back by championing an organisation that is passionate about its community.

We had over 100 amazing entries, each with its own unique backstory so shortlisting the entries to our five finalists was a tough decision for our team.

But after much thought and deliberation, we are pleased to introduce our five finalists, listed below.

Zoë’s Place Baby Hospice provides specialist end-of-life, palliative, and respite care for children aged 0-5 with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. They provide 24-hour, one-to-one individualised care for each child. Over and above their necessary medical care, children can access a range of specialist therapies, such as sensory therapy, hydrotherapy, play therapy and music therapy. Zoë’s Place benefits children and families from all over the UK, with hospices in Coventry, Liverpool and Middlesbrough.

Wicked Weather Watch

Wicked Weather Watch inspires primary aged children and their teachers to know about, and take action on, climate change – the most critical issue facing the next generation today. Their work takes place in person, via schools workshops and talks, alongside free online information and resources. Over the past 5 years, they have worked with over 10,000 children and teachers across nearly 200 schools.

Families First Southampton

Families First’s activities are focused on strengthening families and helping them remain together, to promote the best interest of the children. They assist families, particularly fathers and special guardianship carers, signposting and working alongside debt advice, housing education, specialist additional needs workers, children services, probation and other organisations. The charity runs an outreach service, via phone, face to face and email, alongside in-person support groups for dads and their children.

The British Bee Charity

The British Bee Charity is a non-profit organisation promoting the welfare of bees and other pollinators in the UK. They run workshops and charitable events in schools across the UK, such as Bees for Schools (where schools are given beehives, bees, suits and bee-keeping equipment) and Bee Bombs for Schools with the aim of making the world and our environment a better place.

Sports Connections Foundation Children’s Charity
